About the opportunity
Dayforce is looking for a Production Support Specialist II to join our Cloud Hosting team!
Provides support activities required to maintain a high level of availability and stability of one or more applications including but not limited to, incident/problem analysis and resolution, change/release management, application operations management; DR support, and development support.
Requires basic skills with a moderate level of proficiency. Performs discrete tasks working under moderate supervision with limited latitude for independent judgment. Has the ability to overcome obstacles while communicating problem areas to others. Consults with senior peers to continually build knowledge/experience while minimizing risks. This role is focused on learning to apply standards, developing an understanding of the business, and advancing personal and professional growth through tailored goal-setting and proper training. Typically requires a minimum of up to 3 years of experience in a production support role or File Transmission. Weekend system checks and holidays (at holiday pay).
  • Shift: 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM EST
  • Required: Hired Candidates must pass a Canada Protected B background check
What you’ll get to do
  • Provides technical support on file transmission activities for a production processing environment
  • Install, maintain, and support the application source code and its components
  • Detects, diagnoses, and reports problems related to file transmissions
  • Analyzes and resolves incidents, problems, or known errors related to failures in application and supporting software components
  • Provides technical assistance to programming staff in the analysis of application software aborts and performance issues
  • Creates and maintains complete documentation relative to supporting all applications
  • Provides 24 x 5 support for applications (shift-driven and rotating weekends)
  • Provides consultation to vendor/customer users concerning the application capabilities and use
  • Follows escalation procedures, when appropriate, to resolve incidents, problems, or known errors promptly
  • Assists development teams in requirements definition, system design, and delivery of projects
  • Verifies technical specifications for development projects
  • Participates in disaster recovery activities, including the development and maintenance of documentation
  • Conducts production support validations
  • Maintains and ensures audit items are accounted for (SOC1 & SOX)
  • Participates in change management reviews, confirmation of changes implemented, and validates associated documentation
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

  • Computer Science degree/cert or equivalent experience
  • File Transmission knowledge
  • Requires a working knowledge of applications and utilities used by supported products
  • Skill in basic diagnostic techniques and corrective actions to resolve day-to-day problems
  • Ability to demonstrate interpersonal and teambuilding skills and manage conflict
  • Ability to understand and apply concepts
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems using learned techniques and tools including escalation practices
  • Skilled use of Microsoft Office package and related software applications is required
  • Team skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • General business skills, industry knowledge, and planning skills
  • Strong analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to utilize judgment in decision-making progress and decisions related to the job tasks
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and integrated controls
  • Requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management (internally/externally), employees, clients, and public
