Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support
    • Provide technical support with application, processing, and material related questions.
    • Provide technical support for all Conveyor, Power Transmission & Fluid Power products as assigned.
    • Support outside sales team with customer visits onsite and application technical support.
    • Provide expertise with escalated technical support and monitoring issues.
    • Document and categorize the different types of applications for each intervention.
    • Provide recommendations over accurate product selection, quotation issues, Purchasing & Planning
    Applications Engineering & Product Support
    • Determine which products and configurations to offer for each application.
    • Provide product applications engineering and customer support throughout Canada.
    • Lead and organize product training for employees in Sales, Customer Service & Marketing.
    • Work with Territory Sales Manager to define which products fit with customer’s requirements.
    • Master the product composition & different types of materials for belts, hoses, etc.
    • Work closely with new product development group for feedback and strategic implementation plan
    • Drive & coordinate Global & National commercial initiatives by working closely with the Sales team & customers providing pricing strategy and market information.
    • May be require traveling in other provinces to meet with decision makers, customers or to participate in training sessions & seminars.
  • Research
    • Analyze information provided by the sales team to determine which application is required.
    • Collect data from product specialist teams in other countries to refine application knowledge.
    • Master the trouble shooting processes used by customers to identify suitable solutions.
    • Research information about how our products improve productivity & reduce downtimes.
    • Conduct in-depth research about material resistance, product reliability, & chemical properties.
    • Participate in weekly meetings to build consensus between Product Support and Sales.
    • Prepare formal product documentation as well as detailed comparisons of competitor products.
    • Collaborate with quality department to conduct product quality check & resolve clients’ claims.
    • Recognize customers operational needs and convert them into potential business.


Work Conditions:

  • Salary: between 70 K$ to 75 K$ depending on profile & experience
  • Start date: as soon as possible
  • Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week
  • Paid Sick Days

Profile & Qualifications

  • University Degree or equivalent, preferably with a mechanical engineering background
  • 2-5 of years of practical experience working in belt manufacturing and distribution
  • 2 years service experience in the belting industry for maintenance and installations
  • Prior solution sales experience is preferred, strong collaborative selling skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of belting principles, cutting practices, handling clients’ specifications
  • Creative problem-solving skills and trouble shooting mindset
  • Ability to break down complex problems in a simplified way, conduct root cause analysis and provide clear, well thought-out recommendations
  • Ability to build realistic action plans taking into consideration overall context (time, space, staff, cost, risks, safety, etc.)
  • Strong, team-oriented leadership skills with presence and a bias for action
  • Self-directed with ability to work autonomously and collaboratively and a focus on results
  • Ability to communicate in an open and authentic manner in all situations
  • Excellent communication skills, facility to practice public speaking & to win-over
  • Ability to put in practice industry standards & company methodologies (lean, IMPACT, PPLESC)
