POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute at Sinai Health in Toronto seeks three highly motivated Clinical Trials Assistants to support the Principal Investigator and the research team on a qualitative research study in the field of diabetes. More details about the study are available at www.equat1d.ca.

The Clincial Trials Assistant I will be primarily responsible for conducting participant interviews and transcribing qualitative data with accuracy and while adhering to confidentiality. Additionally, they will assist in participant recruitment and data collection, while collaborating effectively with the research team. Fluency in other language(s) is advantageous for engaging with participants from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct semi-structured participant interviews, ensuring adherence to interview protocol and ethical guidelines
  • Transcribe interviews accurately and efficiently, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality
  • Support data collection efforts including data entry and organization under guidance of the research team
  • Assist in the recruitment and coordination of participants for research study, and managing informed consent processes
  • Communicate effectively with participants and stakeholders, maintaining professionalism and rapport
  • Assist with other research tasks as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in health or social science related field
  • Prior experience with qualitative data collection methods, including participant interviews and transcription is preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to interact successfully with team members from a wide variety of functional areas and diverse expertise levels
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Fluency in other language(s) is an asset (indicate in your cover letter)
  • Experience with otter.ai and Nvivo are assets
