Construction Project Manager

Sawlor Built Homes is recruiting a Project Manager to join our team in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The successful candidate is highly motivated, excellence driven and shares our values and commitments. The Project Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and successful completion of custom homes and be accountable for the overall performance of the project, including costs, schedule, quality, and adherence to company policies and procedures. A minimum of 3 years Project Management experience on residential construction projects is required.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Ensuring the project is constructed as per design, budget, resources, quality, and schedule.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor progress & quality and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Identify potential issues before they arise, come up with solutions to remedy and/or discuss with others to create a solution or better path to completion.
• Fostering and maintaining positive relations and communication with clients, consultants, architects and subcontractors.
• Maintain control of company tools and equipment brought to site and ensure they are returned.
• Keep detailed records of all aspects of the project including meeting minutes, contracts, change orders, site instructions, permits and project schedules, essential to maintaining organization and compliance.
• Prepare monthly reports and weekly meeting reports.
• Frequently interact with clients and subtrades to discuss and review project objectives, progress, and expectations.
• Update detailed project schedules and work plans.
• Identify and coordinate resources required for project delivery tasks such as labour, equipment and material.

The Ideal Candidate has:

• Demonstrated leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills.
• 3-7 years of progressive construction experience.
• At least 3 years of extensive experience as Project Manager in the residential construction field.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Advanced ability to build relationships.
• Above-average time management skills.
• A strong work ethic, a relentless drive to fulfill commitments, and tremendous enthusiasm.
• Degree or certificate in Construction Management, Project Management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration is preferred however, we want to talk to you if you worked your way up the ladder.

This position offers competitive compensation based on experience and skillset. You will have the opportunity to work on exciting custom homes throughout HRM and surrounding areas. This position requires a highly motivated and excellence driven candidate that shares our values and commitments.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $80,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
