This position will be located at the UHN Reactivation Care Centre (RCC) at 82 Buttonwood Avenue, York ON.

Training will be held at UHN - Toronto Rehabilitation Institute (TRI) or Toronto Western

Job Overview:

Responsible for maintaining a timely flow with regard to the receipt and delivery of equipment and supplies throughout the hospital.

Accountabilities:

• Transportation of medical/surgical and general supplies to and from all departments and services within the hospital.
• Maintain departmental pick-ups and deliveries.
• Reorder (including entry of data to generate new purchase requisitions), re-stock and deliver supplies and equipment to units/departments to maintain established quota levels.
• Responsible for regular cycle counts and annual inventory counts of computerized inventory.
• Process inventory transactions daily in the system.
• Receive and reconcile shipments from suppliers. Must wear approved safety toed shoes.
• Perform housekeeping of storeroom.
• Fill requisitions for sterile and medical/surgical supplies on an as-needed basis for nursing units.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Secondary School Diploma
• A minimum of 1 year experience in healthcare supply chain required
• Basic working experience using Microsoft Office
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English well; good mathematical skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated initiative
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and within a team
• Ability to set priorities and deal with fluctuating workloads
• Computerized inventory management systems preferred
• Ability to operate manual lifting devices in a safe and efficient manner preferred
• Previous experience working in a healthcare environment preferred
• Previous experience working in a warehouse setting preferred
• Evidence of satisfactory attendance record
• An employee’s disciplinary record will be reviewed as part of the assessment of qualifications
• Ability to work in a manner that exemplifies the Centre’s core values and helps patients get their life back
• Should be aware of conditions and measures that may affect the safety of patients, residents, students, employees, volunteers, physicians and visitors
