At Nortera Lethbridge we harvest peas and corn that are grown in Taber and the surrounding area. These fresh vegetables are harvested by our Seasonal Pea Combine Operators in the Taber area and then transported to our Lethbridge facility. They come straight from the field to be washed, frozen, packaged, and shipped. For our seasonal positions we are currently hiring individuals that have an interest in learning about the frozen food manufacturing process and to make money for the summer months!

We are currently accepting applications for our summer seasonal positions in Lethbridge.

SUMMER STUDENTS APPLY WITH START DATE AVAILABILITY. MUST BE OF AGE 18 for PLANT.

Contract Length: 4 Months July-October

Positions in Lethbridge:

• Receiver
• Tote Filler
• Tote Builder
• Sanitation
• QA

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare bulk totes for packaging (Totes: 50-60lbs large cardboard boxes that are build and broken down by hand);
• Transport and distribute materials by hand or forklift;
• Assisting in the sanitation with all areas of the plant, hot or cold;
• Operate and maintain constant computerized inventory levels;
• Printing correct labels and attaching to goods;
• Contributing to the maintenance of a food safe facility;
• Record keeping;
• Maintain safe procedures;
• Other general production duties as required.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to lift or move equipment/materials weighing up to 60 pounds;
• Ability to stand for 8 - 12 hours per day;
• Ability to operate a forklift safely in high paced environment (an asset);
• Ability to work effectively as a part of a team;
• Good written and oral communication;
• Able to uphold safe working procedures;
• Able to work in hot/humid and/or freezer conditions;
• Has experience working in a food manufacturing environment (preferred);
• CSA approved steel toed shoes.

Work Conditions:

• Wage rate: $19.58/hr - $24.45/hr
• Sunday Premium: $1.50/hr
• Night Premium:$1.00/hr
• Schedule: 12 Hour Schedule (4-5-5; 4 days, 5 off, 5 nights, 4 off, 5 days, 5 off, repeat) Rotating between days, and nights.
• This schedule requires some weekends and holidays. Days are 6am-6pm and Nights 6pm-6am
