Your Opportunity: Working in collaboration with prescribers and addictions counsellors, you will assist with the Opiate Agonist Treatment program at the Edmonton Remand Centre. Description: As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.

Required Qualifications: Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program. Additional Required Qualifications: Knowledge of processing doctor’s orders is required. Previous experience dealing with the public is required. Medical transcription experience required. Minimum of 3 years recent experience in a Unit Clerk position in corrections is required. Recent experience with scheduling, and external booking is required. Basic typing skills and 1 year experience working with computers including Microsoft Office applications and Netcare. Well developed and demonstrated interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize work and effectively work with frequent interruptions, noise, and nearby distractions. Ability to communicate effectively with others both verbally and in writing. Experience in a Corrections facility is required. Preferred Qualifications: As required.
