Job Description

As a Construction Safety Officer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing our safety protocols across various construction projects. Your responsibilities will include conducting inspections, implementing safety procedures, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Additionally, you will coordinate the Company Safety Program and carry out yearly Safety CORE audits for our company.

Experience with Plumbing Mechanical company preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and safety violations
  • Review and diagnose safety concerns pertaining to the plumbing mechanical trades
  • Diagnose design safety procedures for upcoming working tasks in a timely manner, which do not hold up the plumbing mechanical trade
  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with industry regulations; responsible for reviewing the companies’ Safety Handbook issued to all employees
  • Attend and lead the internal Company Safety Toolbox Minutes at each operating site, each lasting approximately 15 mins to 20 mins long, and keep track of daily FLHA of each site
  • Record and schedule all the necessary safety requirements ie: fall arrest, scissor lift, fit test, and hearing test. To ensure employees are up to date and filled properly (matrix)
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports
  • Attend and lead the internal JOSHC meetings to be held monthly on MS Teams
  • Responsible to discuss with each project foremen a plan of action if any tasks are incorrect
  • Responsible for reviewing and creating an accident investigation report including filling out correctly WCB reports, i.e. Form 7 and EIIR, in a timely manner to our HR representative, this includes talking to witnesses and creating a future plan of action to prevent similar incidents
  • Conduct yearly Safety CORE audits for the Plumbing Mechanical Company segment
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and continuous improvement

Compensation:

$30-40 per hour, based on experience

Expectations of 40 hours work weeks

6% holiday pay to be paid out every pay period

15 working days to be non-paid vacation time

Use of Company Vehicle, Company Phone and laptop (tablet)

Company Benefits package applies once 3 months have been completed from the start date
