Senior IT Systems Administrator

(Permanent, Full-time)


Catholic Crosscultural Services (CCS) is a settlement agency providing a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees regardless of race, religion or status.


We are searching for a full-time Senior IT Systems Administrator to manage its IT infrastructure, which encompasses 7 remote locations and 150+ on-site and off-site users.

What you will be doing:

  • Manage the setup and maintenance of servers and network devices, network infrastructure and security (antivirus and backups), Internet, and intranet.
  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop and laptop computers, peripheral equipment and software applications.
  • Administer the helpdesk account, ticket and incident tracking, web servers and remote access connectivity.
  • Regularly collaborate with internal departments and work alongside third party IT Consultants and technical service providers to maintain optimal IT services and implement IT applications and IT digitalization.
  • Implement Cybersecurity best practices and maintain data back-up infrastructure and security procedures.
  • Streamline the IT day-to-day activities and operations including managing telephone systems, maintaining the inventory of IT equipment and tracking equipment assignment to staff , providing software and hardware support, and recommending upgrades to the IT equipment and systems.
  • Collaborate with senior management to plan expansions, upgrades and maintenance of networks and security parameters.
  • Provide ongoing technical support to CCS websites and online platforms.
  • Implement and manage WI-FI systems/wireless connections in compliance with IT security best practices.
  • Map and understand business processes and translate them into system specifications and system set-up processes with timely training to end-users.
  • Analyze and recommend software updates and manage software licensing, encryption services, and IT service subscriptions.
  • Create and maintain documentation for software, hardware, network administration and data governance, and act as the expert for the system security and access rights.
  • Train end-users on preventive maintenance and security protocols.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to subordinates within the IT team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Mentor and coach team members to maximize their potential and contribute to the organizations success.


What are we looking for?

  • A minimum of post-secondary degree in Computer Sciences.
  • 5+ years of experience as IT System Administrator, IT analyst, or Service Desk Manager.
  • Strong experience in configuring and maintaining VPN and Firewalls such as Cisco Meraki Firewall.
  • Hands on experience with Server maintenance and PC operating systems (Windows servers, Active Directories, DNS, DHCP, SharePoint, One Drive, and MS Office).
  • Hands on experience on cloud backup solutions and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, routing/switching and internet protocols.
  • Experience with MFA configuration and implementation is preferred.
  • Knowledge of VOIP phone network systems is an asset.
  • Experience with SAGE 300 user interface, backups and upgrades is preferred.
  • Possess or progressing towards Master’s degree in information technology, applied computer sciences, and/or CCNA, CCT, CISM, CRISC, CISSP, and GIAG certifications.
  • Experience with Organizational IT infrastructure assessment to ensure a cohesive approach to security initiatives, and properly address future needs.
  • Ability to manage multiple IT projects with competing deadlines including providing IT technical support to Partner Organizations, coordinating the Implementation and testing of software updates and new modules of ERP systems, troubleshooting system issues and recommending software solutions, and leading IT project delivery in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to convey complex technical issues to a variety of users and stakeholders.
  • Excellent presentation skills to conduct IT training sessions on cybersecurity and the proper use of IT resources to end-users.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to details in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently, and to practice critical thinking, risk management and courtesy with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership skills and transparency in sharing information with a focus on team development and mentorship for IT Support Staff.


Location:
55 Town Centre Court, # 401, Toronto (Scarborough) with travel required to other locations.

Compensation: $38.50 to $41.20 based on experience

Hours of work: 35 hours per week, including evenings, weekends and occasional overtime will be required
