Executive Suites Hotel and Conference Centre, Burnaby-Metro Vancouver requires an energetic and motivated new Front Desk Clerk responsible for greeting and registering guests, providing outstanding guest service during their stay, and settling the guests account upon completion of their stay. This position is important for providing exceptional customer service, creating first and last guests impression. Other duties will include registering guests, making and modifying reservations, acting as hotel operator, and performing concierge duties. The Front Desk Clerk must possess a positive and upbeat personality with a desire to deliver outstanding customer service to our guests. The Front Desk Clerk must have excellent selling skills, the ability to multi-task, be detail-oriented, and be able to problem solve in order to effectively deal with internal and external customers. Must be well groomed at all times and have professional appearance.

Requirements• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent• Completion of a two-year apprenticeship program, or a college program in front desk operations or hotel management preferred• [2] years of experience as a Hotel Front Desk Clerk• Experience in customer service and people management• Must have an excellent telephone etiquette• Must have an excellent English comprehension and communication skills• Knowledge of second foreign language an asset• Strong working knowledge of hospitality industry principles, methods, practices, and techniques• Basic knowledge of accounting practices and principles• Must be self-motivated and well-organized• Must be able to multi-task with a excellent attention to details• Ability to analyze and interpret the needs of clients and offer the appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions required • Excellent selling skills and attention to details• Exceptional conflict resolution, negotiation, and objection handling skills• Able to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment• Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments, key business partners, and customers• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel• High level of proficiency with hotel reservation software packages (Agilysys an asset)• Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 20 per week
